This product is so light and the sparkles are very pretty. I would say the texture is in between glitter and a luster eyeshadow. It really isn't glittery, despite the name. So far I have worn just a touch over an ochre eyeshadow, and it gave me a spectacular autumn look. I work it on bare lids with no liner and only Glossier mascara for very minimalist lashes and it was very pretty. I have fair skin, brown eyes, and brown hair. I've tried this on my hand over different colored eyeshadows. It kind of takes on its own personality for whatever color it's over. I love this product.
