After some online research I learned that this dulling and darkening was caused by minerals and chlorine in my town's local deep well water. I really love this product. I have very long, straight hair. It is somewhat difficult to comb through when done washing, but not too bad. However, this is the only conditioner that works for my hair. Afterwards, my hair is beautiful and shines. I am going to purchase the color therapy restorative styling oil. My hairdresser used it on my hair and my hair looked even better. I love the product and it is the only product that I have used that really keeps my hair in place, but you can brush it out and it is not sticky and I never have the flakes and residue.
