I thought I ordered the right size. I did not. The XL is more appropriate for the proper level of wave - this one is really big and is a very loose wave or you have ot have very long hair. I ordered this flat iron not having bought a Chi for many years. I used to buy Chi almost exclusively, but the quality has been so poor I stopped. Well - I should have kept to that stance b/c this flat iron is being returned. The plates have a significant gap, which even a blind man could see.
