What is your skin type?

Find your skin type before you run out and grab a new foundation. There are three main types of skin: dry, oily, and combination. If you are unsure which skin type you have, here are a few simple ways to find out! If you think your skin is dry, try sticking a piece of tape to your cheek. If the tape takes a little skin away with it when you peel it off, then you might be right! ON the other hand, if you have enough oil on the sides of your nose to turn a tissue transparent, you most likely have oily skin. If only a little oil is present, then your skin is more on the normal side. If you find that your t-zone gets more oily with dry patches elsewhere then you more than likely have combination skin.

Once you have determined your skin type, then you'll need to decide what finish and coverage you're wanting. Do you need something to mattify your oily skin or something to give your dry skin a healthy and dewy glow? If you have more oily skin, your best bet is a powdered foundation like the Hynt Velluto Pure Powder Foundation, while dry-skinned ladies will benefit more from a rich liquid foundation like the Mirabella Invincible Anti-Aging HD Foundation.

• Prefers more sheer coverage
• Loves: How sheer the coverage was and how glowy it left her skin.
• Disliked: How strong the Lumier Highlighter was. She found it hard to achieve a natural-looking highlight.

Meet Angie!
She is wearing the Mirabella Skin Tint in the shade 3N.

• Oily Skin
• Prefers light coverage
• Loves: How lightweight the foundation was.
• Disliked: How many pumps of product it took to blend out nicely.

Meet Celene!

• Normal Skin
• Prefers a full coverage foundation
• Loves: How matte the finish is!
• Disliked: How expensive it is, but worth every penny to her!

• Combination
• Full coverage without looking cakey.
• Loves: How perfectly the color matched, the product applied smoothly, dried down soft with a subtle glow.
• Disliked: How the product stayed sticky for a while and separated on her t-zone where she is most oily.

Meet Karen!
She is wearing the Mirabella Defense CC Cream in the shade medium.

• Combination Skin
• Medium Coverage
• Loves: How natural it left her skin and evened out her skin tone.
• Disliked: How the product broke down by the end of the day.

Meet Emily!
She is wearing the Bodyography Silk Cream Compact Foundation in the shade Light 02.

• Dry Skin
• Medium Coverage, enough to cover redness, but not enough to feel it.
• Loves: How perfect the coverage is! It doesn't dry out her skin but it also isn't so hydrating that it makes her oily or comes off after sweating. The application was quick and easy and it applied evenly with minimal effort.
• Dislikes: Nothing! She is completely obsessed!

Meet Mache!
She is wearing the Bodyography Pro Perfect Foundation Stick in the shade Cream.

• Dry Skin
• Light-Medium Coverage
• Loves: How the color matched her skin perfectly and concealed most of the pigmentation on her nose.
• Disliked: How difficult it was to blend out evenly.

Meet Angela!
She is wearing the Jane Iredale Glow Time Pro BB Cream in the shade GT6.

• Dry to Normal Skin
• Light to Medium Coverage
• Loves: How easy the application was, covered all her redness, has a good SPF, felt very lightweight, and was easily buildable.
• Dislikes: How it wore off by the end of the day.
